The
Nest
 |
The Nest is a charming little cabin originally built in
the late 1800's as a homestead. In the spring of 1996 we took it
down to the bare shell and totally rebuilt it from the foundation
up. The Nest now has knotty pine interior, with new wall-to-wall
carpet in 2007. It's one room has a new Serta
Pillow top Queen sized bed a hard wood table and two chairs a
reading chair with ottoman, a 20" flat screen TV with DVD that picks
up local and Satellite and a CD clock radio for rainy days and cool
evenings. We have also added a
small Dimplex fireplace and the Nest now has Air Conditioning. |

For those who wish to
cook the cabin is equipped with a Microwave oven, a toaster and coffee pot
(well stocked with coffee). there is also a small 1-1/2
cubic ft. refrigerator and a gas grill with a side burner outside on the deck
and an inside cooking griddle The
Nest is only 14' x 16', but we did manage to install a bathroom with a
nice hot shower. It has a pocket door (for space saving), with a
pedestal sink in the main room, also a vanity mirror and medicine
chest. The room is well lighted and has a bank of windows that
overlook the lake. |

The exterior of the cabin is Cedar
sided, and has a shed roof over the entry and all along the side, suitable
for grilling on rainy days. It has a large deck and a fire-pit right
out front. Although the cabin sits about one hundred
feet off the road, it has been well insulated, and has five large Spruce
trees shielding it from the road. When inside the cabin you forget
the road is even there. |

The Nest has been held out as
allergy free, so please NO SMOKING in the cabin. There is a great
view from the Nest and of course you are free to roam our shoreline.
We hope that you enjoy your stay in the Nest as much as our past guests
have, and as much as we enjoy sharing it with you. This is one of two cabins we
have open year round, and it rents for $85.00 per night. |

Elsie's House |

Elsie's House is a full size two
bedroom house with a large kitchen, living room and family room. It has a
new queen size Serta pillow top bed in the master bedroom, a new spring
mattress futon in the family room, and a queen platform bed in the
second bedroom.
The view from this house is nothing short of spectacular. It sits on it's
own private four acres of land adjoining the Lakeside Cabins. Of course it
has a private fire pit and Webber grill. Equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD player
for those rainy days and cool evenings.
This home is now in the rental pool year round. It is a large house
and will rent for $160.00 per night this year. This is for up to four guests
and $10.00 for each additional person, six people maximum. We
would prefer weekly rentals but will take two night minimum rentals for the
time being. There will be a 10% discount for a week long stay.

The Superior House |

The Superior house is a very spacious three bedroom house that sits on 4.5
acres right next to Elsie's House and has it's own private stretch of Lake
Superior Shoreline. Fully furnished with Antiques throughout
and a great wood burning fireplace gives this house a very comfortable feel,
when you walk into the door it is like being welcomed home.
The house has a large kitchen fully equipped including
a dishwasher. There is a 27" TV with a DVD - VHS player stocked with a
few VHS Movies. The
master bedroom has a queen bed and the other two bedrooms have double beds.
Each bedroom has its own heat control and is charmingly furnished in
different antiques. There is a great swing set and play area for the kids.
The shoreline below the house is rocky and very fun to
explore, it is very accessible from the house down a pathway with a fire pit
right on the shore.
Superior house will sleep up to six and rents for
$200.00 per night from one to four people. There is a 10% discount for a week
or more.
The luxury, comfort and seclusion of this house makes
for a great vacation getaway. |
